Changes to Office Bearers and Constitution, proxy voting, read on....

At the AGM of the Scottish Paralegal Association, Karen Leslie and Alison Butters were re-elected for a further two year term as Joint Presidents and Lorna McCafferty was re-elected as Vice President.  Sandra Reid has been appointed Treasurer and Nicola Heggie, a new member to the Committee, has been appointed Secretary.  The remaining committee comprises of Dawn Bellamy and Nicola Brown.  Two SPA members interested in joining the committee have come forward so watch this space for updates on further changes.

All points on the Agenda were voted through unanimously.  The Constitution will be amended to reflect these changes in due course.

14 members registered their intention to attend the AGM of which 12 did meeting voting requirements.  The Committee appreciate that weekends are precious to all  and wish to balance that with ensuring that we receive your views for your Association.  The matter of proxy voting at future AGMs was raised under Any Other Business as a result.  This will enable members to vote on matters important to them without the necessity of travelling to Stirling or any other venue.  We of course welcome all members in person at the AGM but, for those who come from farther afield or who cannot attend due to commitments, may welcome this suggestion.  If there is sufficient support we will put this to the vote at the next AGM or convene a SGM as necessary
